Wall Murals by Uta Naumann
Uta was born in 1969 in the beautiful baroque city of Dresden and spent most of her life there before moving to Leipzig in 2015. Her passions are old paintings and visiting museums. Her favourite painter is Pierre-Joseph Redoute.
Floral motives and colours are the basis and inspiration of her work. She loves romantic vintage designs and the glory of the past. For many years Uta has been collecting books with antique illustrations, drawings of historic pharmacist plants, lush tropical plants and roses.
Uta describes her approach to pattern design as drifting. The result of the creation is usually not predictable at the beginning of the work. At the end, she adds different backgrounds to the flowing compositions of colours and motifs to create variations of completely new patterns.
Her strengths are the ability to observe, a keen eye for detail, the never-tiring curiosity for discoveries and the ability to reflect the insights gained and to translate them into abstract form.
